The microfiber fabric is made of superfine fiber. It is super-soft and has high absorption quality. It’s close to leather but much cheaper than the later one. Thus, more and more families choose microfiber couch as their priority due to its reasonable price and good usability. But how to clean the microfiber couch can be a common problem.

As naughty kids and pets together at home, you will find that you may freak out sometimes on how to clean your microfiber couch. They paint for the sofa and leave crumbles while enjoying their favorite cartoons. Consequently, they become the biggest obstacles in the cleaning process.

Cleaning a microfiber couch can be really tough if you don’t follow a right way. Many people try to use water or soap to wipe stains off but only leave pieces of water spots. They think water is mild enough to remove some stains and dust, but microfiber couch is quite easy to leave watermarks on it. Please remember it and do not act on impulse. Adopting the correct way to clean the sofa can avoid any secondary stain and further damage. Now, I’ll recommend you three easy steps to clean your microfiber couch.

These easy steps can help you to clean your furniture quickly.

Step 1-Figure out the suitable way on how to clean the microfiber couch

If you are scrupulous enough, you must find that there are some codes on the furniture tag. Before taking action, you should read these codes carefully and figure out their meanings:

“W” means you must use a water-based cleaning solution.

“S” means you must use a solvent-based cleaner.

“S-W” means you can use either a solvent- or water-based cleaner.

“X” means vacuum only (neither a solvent- nor water-based cleaner).

If you’re unlucky to find that your sofa belongs to tag “X”, you can skip the following two steps and lift the vacuum cleaner to clean up the messy situation.

As usual, the microfiber couch owns an “S” tag or none. So it is vital to choose the right cleaner. You should check out whether the cleaner is water-based. If not, you can test its cleaning effort in some inconspicuous areas of the sofa before extensive use.

Step 2-Vacuuming it first

Before dealing with the detail spots or stains, you should vacuum it all-around. There is much dust and crumbles on the cover of the sofa. Do not forget to move couch cushion and back cushion away and vacuum its crevices which are easy to ignore. Otherwise, they will be intractable after years of accumulation.

Step 3-Clean spots, stains and crumbles

If a couch with “W” tag, it is so easy to make a cleaner. You just need to mix the soap and water and pour them into a bottle together. Spray it on the stain areas and wipe off. The last but not least, use a hair dryer to dry the wet area off to avoid any watermarks if necessary.

A sofa with tag “S” or no tags on the furniture, you can buy a solvent-based cleaner or a spray of rubbing alcohol instead. Just repeat the same steps above with a soft sponge. Sprinkle the spot area and gently scrub the soiled part until the stains gradually saturate. To avoid color-transfer, select the sponge which color is similar to your couch.

With the tag “S-W,” choose which one you prefer. You have more choices on how to clean the microfiber couch.

At last, let me tell you a super-easy way to get rid of these troubles. Get an easy-to-wash and replaced slipcover and let your kids and pets free on the couch:). You don’t need to worry about the cleaning stuff anymore. A slipcover becomes a bodyguard of the microfiber couch and prevents it from any stains or dust. If it gets dirty, it only takes you one minute to throw it in the washing machine. To know more about slipcovers, just click here.
